Biography

Dr Edel Walsh is a Lecturer in Economics at Cork University Business School. Edel was awarded a PhD from UCC in 2012 and holds a Diploma in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education. In 2021 she was awarded a Teaching Hero Award from the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and the Union of Students in Ireland. Since joining the department Edel has taught across a range of modules at undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education levels. Her research interests are in the areas of life satisfaction and its determinants, ageing, and informal care of older people. Currently, Edel co-leads the ISS21 Ageing Research Cluster.
