There is a huge variety of sporting choices for you to get involved in. Whether it is competitive or recreational, participation in sporting activities is a great way to immerse yourself in the college scene, as well as a fun way to keep fit and healthy.

UCC Students' Union is the chief representative body for students in UCC. UCCSU is a democratic organization run by 5 fulltime officers elected by the student body.

Cork City has a great buzz all year round. Its celebrated arts and culture scene, and wide selection of entertainment mean there is something to suit all tastes. Take a wander down Patricks Street, known locally as “Pana” and explore the narrow winding streets of this medieval city. Sample the culinary delights of the world famous English Market, Ireland’s most distinguished covered market, which has been serving the people of Cork since 1788. Cork University Business School is a five minute walk from the city centre which itself is compact and easily explored by foot or bicycle.
Rural Cork is equally as exciting as the city centre and is very accessible. Many of Cork’s most famous attractions such as Fota Wildlife Park, Blarney Castle and Spike Island are all just a short train, bus or car journey away. Want to venture further afield? The busy market town of Midleton, on the city’s doorstep; take a daytrip to the picturesque town of Cobh, the last port of call for the Titanic; or spend an afternoon wandering around the narrow streets of Kinsale, the ‘Gourmet Capital of Ireland’.
Cork Science Festival is a week long festival of science events taking place across Cork this November. From the 13th to the 20th November, a program of free public engagement events, community talks, exhibitions, shows and school workshops are available to enjoy.
