Re-imagining Student Housing through Student Housing Co-operatives: can it happen in Ireland?

Across the world, students are taking control of their housing by starting housing co-ops that they own and run. Could the same development happen in Ireland?

Organised by the Centre for Co-operative Studies at Cork University Business School, University College Cork. This event will feature Mike Shaw, founding member of Edinburgh Student Housing Co-operative who will talk about his experiences of Student Co-operatives.

He is also one of the founding members of the federation of student co-operatives – Students for Co-operation - and was involved in the development of the recent national body of Student Co-op Homes in the UK.  Mike will share his experiences and outline what he thinks is necessary to ignite a student housing co-operative movement in Ireland.
