John Buckley has been awarded the Deloitte UCC Executive MBA Graduate of the Year Award 2019.
John is the Head of Supply Chain Operations with Ervia in Cork.
He receives the Deloitte award for finishing top of the Executive MBA graduating class at UCC.
Presenting the award Ronan Murray, Lead Financial Advisory Partner for Deloitte in Munster said
Deloitte is honoured to be associated with this prize which recognises excellence in business leadership education. As a past UCC MBA graduate, I’m particularly pleased to be presenting the award today.
He also complimented John’s achievement on getting the highest marks in the class.
UCC President Professor Patrick O’ Shea, who hosted the award ceremony, paid tribute to Deloitte’s commitment to supporting business learning, in particular the importance of their on-going support for the UCC Executive MBA programme.
Professor Matthias Beck, the programme director, congratulated John for his academic achievements and his overall contribution across the two years of the programme.
"The Deloitte prize recognises excellence in our UCC Executive MBA programme and today we recognise an executive who has shown exceptional ability”, he said.
Commenting on his award, John Buckley said,
I am delighted to receive this award but in doing so must thank my lecturers on the MBA for their support and to my fellow course participants for helping to create a collaborative environment that facilitated really valuable learning which I will utilise in my work with Ervia. I am very grateful to my employers for investing in me and giving me this opportunity and I also want to say a huge thank you to my wife and my family for their support and encouragement over the past two years.
