Adam Murphy, a Quercus Scholar and second-year Business Information Systems (BIS), Cork University Business School (CUBS) student, has had an exciting few months. In August, he won a Men’s Double Scull bronze medal at the World U23 Rowing Championships in St Catherines, Canada, with University of Galway Student Brian Colsh. Earlier in July, he won the Senior Men’s double scull title for UCC at the Irish National Rowing Championships with Quercus Alumni Ronan Byrne.
Recently, he won the Indoor Irish Rowing Championships with the fastest overall and a big personal best time.

As a World Championship Medallist, Adam was awarded a special presentation at the Rowing Ireland Olympic Celebration & Annual Awards Night at Fota Island Resort Hotel.

Adam said, "I am happy to be back studying BIS full-time, and it has been an inspiring few months, winning the U23 World medal and the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships. My goals are to progress my studies in BIS at CUBS and ultimately try to qualify a boat and compete at the Next Olympics in Los Angeles."
