BIS department awarded Pieta Amber Flag for promoting positive mental health

The BIS department has been awarded the Pieta Amber Flag for demonstrating commitment to promoting positive mental health through teamwork and peer contribution.

The award was achieved by the BIS team led by four BIS students, Ciara Aherne, Aimee Quigley, John Murphy and Edward Flynn. The students designed and implemented 3 initiatives to promote positive mental health in BIS to achieve the award. The aim of the initiatives was to build and maintain connection and community across BIS for students.

Organising a fundraising event was required as part of the award. The students built connection across BIS through music and created a ‘feel good’ BIS x Pieta playlist on Spotify, see poster attached, where doners donated and nominated a song for the playlist. The Spotify BIS x Pieta House Feel Good Mix fundraising activity raised €737.00 for Pieta House, it consists of 30 songs and 1hr 50 mins of music.
