Our capstone consultancy project, Multi perspective AI Investment Framework

Our capstone consultancy project, Multi perspective AI Investment Framework, focused on helping IT leaders make smarter, faster AI investment decisions. By combining the Balanced Scorecard and the Pugh Decision Matrix, the framework evaluates AI solutions across four perspectives: Financial, Internal User, Technical, and Organisational Capacity. Refined through three phases of focus groups and expert interviews in five countries, it identifies 18 Critical Success Factors (CSFs) and aligned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The framework directly tackles a common industry challenge: AI projects that fail due to lack of measurable ROI or poor workforce adoption. It helps organisations compare AI solutions side by side, prioritising those with shorter payback periods, lower total cost of ownership, and stronger adoption potential. Beyond financial metrics, it integrates non-financial factors like data security, regulatory compliance, workforce readiness, and output accuracy. This means organisations can avoid wasted spend, reduce risk, and align AI initiatives with long‑term strategic goals.

Personally, it was a landmark experience. Beyond learning how to translate complex AI and technical concepts into simple, actionable recommendations, I also developed skills in stakeholder management, structured problem-solving, and working as part of a consulting team under tight timelines. These experiences gave me the confidence to navigate ambiguity and focus on delivering outcomes that matter to business leaders.

The ISBP programme overall has been incredibly rewarding, blending academic depth with practical, industry-relevant projects. It gave me the opportunity to work closely with peers from diverse backgrounds and to strengthen both my technical and business skillsets. My next goal is to pursue a career in the consulting or finance sector, where I can apply the knowledge and experience gained during this programme to help organisations deliver meaningful impact.
