We are delighted to present the second issue of the Cork University Business School Research Spotlight newsletter. This edition highlights recent research funding successes and celebrates our faculty’s achievements in securing significant external competitive grants. We also provide key information to support you in applying for funding.
Research funding benefits both individuals and the School by fostering collaboration, enabling formal research partnerships, and enhancing research experiences. It empowers researchers to develop independent teams and programs, define their research direction, and contribute effectively to global priorities within transdisciplinary teams. Additionally, competitive funding facilitates engagement with leading experts and institutions worldwide, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and methodologies while providing access to advanced resources and technologies.
Our colleagues continue to secure substantial funding from national and international sources, underscoring the global impact of the research undertaken at CUBS. This issue also showcases our commitment to translating research into meaningful outcomes, exemplified by the EI Comm Fund’s support for advancements in AI Palliative Care. Considering research impact from the earliest stages is fundamental to realizing the ambitions of our new School mission.
By securing competitive funding, we ensure that CUBS remains at the forefront of academic excellence and innovation, contributing to both local and global research landscapes. Congratulations to our colleagues on their funding successes,we look forward to seeing the impact of their research in the years ahead.
While we celebrate these achievements, we also want to acknowledge the dedication of colleagues who have yet to secure funding. Research funding is highly competitive, and setbacks are part of the process. We recognize the time, effort, and resilience that go into each application. Your perseverance is invaluable, and with continued determination, success will come.
