Today, CUBS is hosting the annual CUBS Postgraduate Research Symposium in ORB2.55. This is an opportunity for CUBS PhD students to present their research to fellow researchers and students in a collegial and helpful environment, and great preparation for academic conferences.
The symposium sessions are indicative of the breadth of research activity across CUBS:
Sustainability;
Health & Wellbeing;
Employment & Work;
IS Security & Ethical Business Decision-Making; and
Social Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Firm Survival
We are delighted to welcome Professor Stephen Roper, Warwick Business School to give the keynote address: Your PhD Project: Moving towards Publication and Impact. Stephen Roper is Professor of Enterprise at Warwick Business School, founding Director of the Enterprise Research Centre (www.enterpriseresearch.ac.uk) and Co-Director of the Innovation and Research Caucus (IRC).
There is also a panel discussion “After the PhD: what next?” where CUBS Alumni & Faculty will reflect on their post-doctoral career paths and provide insights on how to prepare for early career positions. Our panellists include: Dr. Christopher Fawsitt, Research Scientist, Clifton Insights; Dr. Mary O’Shaughnessy, Head of Department & Senior Lecturer, Food Business & Development, CUBS and Dr. Fergal O’Connor, Lecturer in Finance & Economics, CUBS. This will be an informal discussion with plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
