38th IRISH ACCOUNTING & FINANCE ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND DOCTORAL COLLOQUIUM

The 38th Irish Accounting & Finance Association Annual Conference and Doctoral Colloquium will be hosted at University College Cork from the 10th to 12th June 2026.

We are now inviting submissions for the IAFA Annual Conference and Doctoral Colloquium, which will be held in University College Cork (UCC) from 10–12 June 2026. The Doctoral Colloquium will take place on Wednesday 10 June, and the Conference on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June.

We have an excellent line up of guest speakers, including:
Conference keynote: Prof David Bedford (University of Technology, Sydney)
Doctoral colloquium keynote: Prof Brendan O’Dwyer (University of Amsterdam / University of Manchester)
EAA speaker: To be confirmed

The submission process is outlined below. More information around conference logistics (e.g., accommodation; travel options) will be made available later. 

Call for Conference Submissions
Initial submissions can be an abstract of circa 250–300 words or a full (unpublished) paper. The deadline for initial submissions is 27 March 2026. Submissions should be made by email to: [email protected]

Decisions on acceptances of papers will be communicated by 24 April 2026.

Accepted papers will only be included on the conference schedule where registration and payment has been received from at least one author by 15 May 2026. Final submissions will be due by the 15 May 2026 and can be one of two types:

1. Full papers
2. Emerging papers

A full paper is the recommended submission, however in the spirit of the IAFA Annual Conference being a venue where early-stage research projects are welcome, emerging papers are also accepted for presentation. An emerging paper is expected to be in the range of 1,500–3,000 (excluding abstract, tables, figures and references) and should include the following:

 A clear research objective
 A review of key and/or relevant literature
 Comment on methods and/or theoretical lenses relevant (or which may be relevant) to the subject of study
 An outline of any initial findings (optional)

Call for Doctoral Colloquium Submissions
The IAFA Doctoral Colloquium provides students, at all stages of doctoral research, with an opportunity to present their work and receive feedback from academics in their field.

An application form for the Doctoral Colloquium is available here and must be submitted no later than 27 March 2026. Applications are also invited for the following:

 Masters/Doctoral Research Funding Competition Award
 EAA PhD Forum Scholarship

Applicants for the award/scholarship can apply using the relevant section of the application form available on the IAFA website which must be submitted no later than 27 March 2026. Further conditions attached to the award/scholarship are detailed in the application form and on the IAFA website.
