On Friday 6 June, the College of Business and Law (CoBL) hosted its annual Research Showcase, a dynamic event bringing together academic staff and PhD students to share and discuss research that contributes to a more sustainable and equitable future.
The objective of this year’s showcase was to highlight cross-disciplinary research aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on:
SDG 3 – Good Health and Wellbeing:
Exploring innovations and strategies that promote physical and mental health, equitable healthcare access, and improved wellbeing across populations.
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth:
Investigating inclusive economic development, fair employment practices, and productive labour environments in an evolving global economy.
SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure:
Showcasing research that supports resilient infrastructure, technological advancement, and sustainable industrialisation.
In addition, the event spotlighted cross-cutting research on resilience, growth, innovation, and wellbeing, bringing together diverse academic perspectives to address complex global challenges and co-create integrated, sustainable solutions.
With more than 60 presentations delivered across four parallel sessions, the showcase served as a valuable opportunity to celebrate the breadth of research within the College, spark collaboration, and facilitate knowledge exchange among researchers.
A creative highlight of the day was a live art piece by Hazel Hurley, who captured the key themes and discussions in a vibrant visual artwork that reflected the collective energy and ambition of the event.
The 2025 Research Showcase once again underscored CoBL’s commitment to advancing research that makes a real-world impact and drives progress toward the SDGs.
