Biography

Eimear McGeown is a lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at University College Cork (UCC) where she specialises in financial accounting.   Eimear is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland and an Associate of the Institute of Bankers.  She has a broad range of experience in the private sector including accounting, corporate finance and banking.  This experience has formed the basis of her PhD study on the role of non-bank finance in the Irish SME sector.  Her PhD is an empirical study on the determinants of the demand and supply of non-bank debt finance to the SME sector in Ireland and the impact of same on firm performance.
