Mr Hugh Farrell

Biography
Hugh is a lecturer in the Department of Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from Maynooth University which he received in 2022. Following his PhD, he worked as a lecturer in Maynooth University before moving to UCC. His research interests include financial economics, the economics of crime, sustainable finance and economics, and game theory. He has published in the areas of sentiment analysis indicators and their effect on asset returns, as well as the effects of capital punishment on homicide rates. He currently supervises one PhD student in the area of sustainable finance.
