Biography

Dr. Peter Cleary is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and the Academic Director of the BSc (Accounting) degree. He has been lecturing in UCC in the area of Management Accounting since 2002. A graduate of UCC (BComm -1997 & MBS in Management Information & Managerial Accounting Systems - 1999) and a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA), Dr. Cleary worked for organisations in both Ireland and the USA prior to becoming an academic. 

 

Dr. Cleary completed his doctoral dissertation at the University of Limerick in 2007 which focused on the role of management accounting in knowledge-intensive firms. Dr. Cleary's research has been published in a range of international journals such as the British Accounting Review, Qualitative Research in Accounting & Management, the Journal of Intellectual Capital, the International Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Performance Evaluation and the Journal of Human Resource Costing and Accounting. He has also presented papers at a range of both national and international conferences.
