Biography

Dr Jodi Cronin has been a College Lecturer at the Centre for Policy Studies since September 2014. She holds a PhD (University College Cork), a Master’s degree in Health Economics Practice (UCC), a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (UCC), and a BA in Economics and French (UCC).

Her research interests are in health economics and economic evaluation, with a particular emphasis on oral health policy, chronic disease management, and healthcare resource allocation. Her work includes the economic appraisal of public health interventions, comparative analysis of health systems, and the evaluation of healthcare costs and utilisation across a range of clinical and policy contexts.

She is currently a Work Package Lead on the PRUDENT project (Prioritisation, Incentives and Resource Use for Sustainable Dentistry), funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe. PRUDENT aims to develop and implement an innovative, context-adaptive framework for the optimised financing of oral healthcare.

She teaches students to apply economic theory and evaluation methods to real-world issues in health, social policy, and the environment across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
