Business Information Systems at Cork University Business School in UCC, which was awarded a Pieta House Amber flag last academic year, has retained its flag for 2022-23 for the initiatives a group of student volunteers designed and led to promote positive mental health and wellbeing in BIS this academic year.
To retain the Amber flag status a new group of student volunteers designed and led 2 events and a fundraiser.
The first was the BIS X Pieta free coffee and biscuit event attended by staff and students from across the Undergraduate programme. We played the BIS Feelgood Playlist created as one of the initiatives last year.
The second event was a 15 minute campus wellbeing walk created by the student volunteers. Anyone who completed the walk by 28th March and submitted a photo from the walk was eligible to win a spot prize.
A fantastic €410.00 was raised for Pieta House arising from both events.
Well done to all student volunteers, enabling BIS to retain the Amber flag status.
