Sinead Hackett

CUBS Student Engagement Manager

Sinead is the Student Engagement Manager and a member of the professional services of the university for 30 years.

Her background is in the Human Resources area, working as the manager of the Pensions Unit of UCC for over 21 years, completing the Irish Institute of Pension Manager exams during that time, and managing the day to day operations of the in-house pension schemes for over 3,000 staff and 1,000+ retired staff. She moved to CUBS in 2016, initially working in the Business Information Systems (BIS) Department for 5 years as Departmental Administrator, managing the staffing, HR, finances and core/research budgets for the department. Due to the restructure of the CUBS professional staff in 2021, Sinéad initially held a dual role of CUBS Programme Governance Manager (for 12 months) with her current Student Engagement Manager role. Sinéad initially was tasked with development of professional programmes for the CUBS Dean's Scholars List and the Leaders of Tomorrow. Since 2021, there has been a focus on concept development, management and rollout of a broad selection of student group touchpoints with student societies, class reps, undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD scholars on various once-off/event series encompassing personal/professional development with an underlying ethos of inclusion, diversity and belonging.
