Emma started out her career as a singer and entertainer for Bunratty Castle. She auditioned for The Irish Popstar’s talent competition and landed a place in the pop band SIX. Their first single 'There’s a Whole Lot Of Loving' is still the fastest-selling single in Irish history and received the number one spot for the decade countdown. SIX released two multi-platinum selling singles and had a top five album in Ireland. They also had a No.1 single in Norway and New Zealand. They toured extensively with Westlife in the UK and Scandinavia.

Following this, Emma took part in RTÉ’s Inside Charity 252, where she hosted a simulcast programme on radio and television for people in need, raising €40,000 for charity in the process. Following the success of this programme she began working for Limerick’s Live 95FM co-hosting breakfast radio and also presented her own show Emma’s Saturday Night Party.

Soon after, Emma got her first TV presenting role on the Disney Club every Saturday and Sunday morning for RTÉ’s The Den Children’s Channel.
