Michelle Donovan

TAPSTAK, CEO

Michelle is the CEO of TAPSTAK – a platform providing a mobile application as a service.

TAPSTAK makes interacting with the organisations and things around you as simple as tapping a button on your smartphone. With a mission to bring all of life best buttons together in your pocket and a wide range of applications from entering a competition, supporting a campaign on twitter, ordering a coffee, paying for parking or even controlling connected devices

TAPSTAK has often been referred to a “Remote control for life”. Shortly after graduating from UCC with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Michelle began working full time on TAPSTAK and took part in the Enterprise Ireland, New Frontiers program in the Rubicon Centre where she gained entrepreneurial skills required to grow the company.

Since then TAPSTAK has patented the system architecture and acquired Local Enterprise and EI Competitive Start Funding and subsequently launched a commercial product in Ireland. Michelle has always been interested in technology and its applications.

Over the years this has grown into a fascination with smart systems and how humans interact with them. While in UCC, she worked on projects in biomedical device design, assistive robotics and vision systems and developed a board game to teach children Boolean logic which spurred her interest in STEM initiatives.
