FOUNDERS OF PUNDIT ARENA

Pundit Arena is a sports media platform that enables sports fans to become paid journalists. The company was founded in 2013 by Richard Barrett and Ross O'Dwyer on the Ignite Business Innovation Programme. The site has grown to 2.6 million monthly users, has over 460 Pundits and reaches over 10,000,000 people per week on social media. Pundits include George Hook, and former England International Andy Goode. Pundit Arena is an agile sports media house that has been at the forefront of content in written, image, live streaming, audio and video format.

A University College Cork graduate in B.Ed Sports Studies and Physical Education, Richard Barrett has been involved in online media for a number of years, both as a journalist and as a website owner. He is the current Regional Entrepreneur of the Year and was also the 2014 South Cork Entrepreneur of the Year. He was also named in Ireland’s ‘Top 30 Under 30’ in 2016.

A Commerce graduate from University College Cork, Ross O'Dwyer has been involved in entrepreneurship right from the start of his college days opting for relevant modules and partaking in small scale ventures. Ross is the youngest member of Enterprise Ireland’s mentor programme and was also named in Ireland’s ‘Top 30 Under 30’ in 2016.
