Michael McGrath was elected a T.D. for Cork South Central in 2007 and was re-elected in 2011. Michael was appointed Fianna Fáil’s Spokesperson on Finance by Party Leader Micheál Martin in August 2011. Prior to his election to the Dáil, Michael was elected to Cork County Council in June 2004 for the Carrigaline electoral area. Michael, a UCC Commerce graduate, qualified as an accountant with KPMG in Cork City in 2001. Before entering politics full-time, Michael worked as Financial Controller of RedFM in Cork and was Head of MIS in UCC. He is currently a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform.
