EU ETS Reform, Emissions Trading and Brexit

This half-day workshop is hosted by Cork University Business School, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Environmental Research Institute & will feature the participation of policy-makers, academics, and industry representatives.

On February 27th, 2018, the Council of the European Union formally approved significant reform of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. This will result in the total volume of emissions being reduced annually by 2.2% and the amount of emissions to be placed in the market stability reserve will be doubled. The intent of these reforms is to drive an increase in carbon prices.
